After getting up early to feed and care for Sunny and Buster, I took them both for morning rides to again “stretch their legs.” Then I spent a couple hours braiding them while Rena got to rest up a bit before she was to be doing her most important jobs of the weekend: helping to tack them up, hold them between rides, AND be official HMF Photographer/Videographer.

While most of the test was done without much rain…as we were finishing, the rain started up again. Ugh! Now I had to warm up Buster in a nice steady rain…so much for warm, sunny Aiken!

Hello Friends of HMF!

Here is the great “Sporting Days Farm USEA Horse Trial” recap, in several parts. We ALL had a BLAST and…despite DOWNPOURS throughout the show on Saturday…it was warm enough so it didn’t really matter, AND the footing for SJ and XC courses was BEAUTIFUL!

After my last entry Friday morning, I rode both Sunny and Buster once later that morning, and once again in the afternoon to “stretch their legs” after the long trailer ride on Thursday and to “polish up their dressage” a bit. Meanwhile Rena took care of mucking their stalls, grooming/tacking up, filling water buckets/haynets, cleaning the Wintec saddles and girths, etc. We then walked the XC and SJ courses after the courses were officially opened for walking.
